“Pokemon Go” Celebrates the Lunar New Year with a Safari Zone Event ,in Taiwan

Pokemon GO joins the Celebrations for the Chinese New Year

Pokémon GO [Free] is gearing up for the Lunar New Year. There will be a special Safari Zone Event in Taiwan later this month and it will be at the Chiayi Lantern Festival. The event will see Drantini, Mr. Mime, Growlithe, and more appear alongside lanterns during the day. Once evening (5 PM) hits, Chinchou and Lanturn will start showing up. Outside the Safari Event Zone, there will be more Pokémon to find around the rest of Chiayi County.

The Safari Zone Event will take place in Taiwan at the Chiayi Lantern Festival. This event is being hosted by the Chiayi County government and will go on from February 26th until March 3rd. In addition to gazing at the lanterns in the festival, you can now get some quality Pokémon GO time in while celebrating.

While this event is in Chiayi County, some people have reported success with using a VPN in Pokémon GO but it depends on how the VPN functions and even on the phone model if you’re on Android. If this does work for you, let us know in the comments.
