Gameloft partnered with Huawei, more precisely with Honor Sub, to promote an eSports tournament for its Modern Combat Versus game in collaboration with ESL.
The Modern Combat Versus Honor International Series begins on February 11, 2018, with teams from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, India, and Malaysia. All competing for a place in the final.
The championship will culminate in a final that will be held live (in person) at the ESL studio in Paris in April. The main teams will fight for the grand prize of € 10,000 Euros ($ 12,247 or more of R $ 40,000 reais) and an Honor View 10 smartphone for each participant.
Modern Combat Versus begins its life in eSport …
“This partnership marks a decisive step in Gameloft’s dedication to entering the eSports domain. Modern Combat Versus is perfect for an online competition with its strategic team-based gameplay and unique visual experience that combines console-level graphics, “said Gameloft senior vice president of sales and marketing Baudouin Corman.
“We are happy to collaborate with Honor again to show that FPS competitions on the handset are as intense and enjoyable as on the console and PC.”
For years Gameloft has been hosting Modern Combat 5 championships. The game has never been “unleashed” on Twitch TV in Live Events on Youtube. The new initiative with Modern Combat Versus seems timid compared to the total NetEase award for Rules of Survival, a total of $ 650,000 (around $ 2 million).
