Fortnite Lite? Game Urgently Needs a "Light" Version for Android

Whoever accompanies the Android gaming news, knows Epic has released Fortnite APK access to all players. Everyone can download. Download, I said! To install is another story, to play them, nor speak.

The information, which we did not even notice, changed just how Epic gives the bad news that your cell phone is not compatible, would be further proof that it is increasingly impossible for Fortnite to run on 3GB or 2GB of RAM.

When Epic announced that the installer’s APK would be released for everyone to download, I saw a crowd running and spreading the fake news that the game would be released to multiple intermediaries. Is not.

Epic should launch a “light” version of Fortnite.

Epic Games, realizing the confusion, was quick to remove the information from the Portuguese version of the Fortnite website. Now, there is no more display of Motorola intermediaries (or any other company).

Fortnite Lite? Game Urgently Needs a "Light" Version for Android
Despite running on the Galaxy S7 and similar, Fortnite is too heavy for old-line tops (2016).

Despite not being officially compatible, it is noteworthy for Lenovo’s Chinese devices such as Zuk Z2 and Z2 Pro. Although they are not on the list, they have the same processor as the Mi5 and are running the game (I said running).

“What did no one say?” The minimum requirements!

When it was announced, Epic Games already suggested that Fortnite would be a tough game, and that came to fruition. In Galaxy S7, the game runs at 25fps, with drops to 20fps. It is possible to play to pass the time, but this framerate rate would never be acceptable for a competitive scenario.

Before, Epic suggested that the game would run on Android devices with up to 3 GB of RAM, but this information has not been confirmed for tablets either.

Fortnite for Android requires at least a smartphone with 4 GB of RAM and top-of-the-line processor 2016, at least a Snapdragon 820. And this to run the game at the lowest quality.

To get the minimum performance (30fps), your cell phone needs to have at least one 835 Snapdragon and 4GB of RAM. The RAM question is not so much about the size, but about the speed of it.

The ideal is to have a cell phone with standard LDDR4X memory. Devices with LDDR4 standard will run the game at most at 30fps and with graphics at a minimum. Intermediate and basic LDDR3, even if they have lots of RAM, are marked as incompatible.

Finally, below is the minimum requirements for running Fortnite.

  • Snapdragon 820 processor, equal or superior (top of line in 2016)
  • 4 GB of RAM (but needs to be at least LDDR4 standard)
  • Android 8.0+

Fortnite “Lite” would be the only alternative

As it stands, there’s no chance that Fortnite will get to devices like Moto G5 and G5S Plus. It may be that there are mods on the internet that make the game run on those devices, or anyone with Snapdragon 600x, but the possibility of being banned forever will make you give up on the idea.

Already in basic smartphones like Samsung J5, J7, LG K10 and Moto G4, it is impossible for Fortnite to reach such devices. In addition to the hardware limitation to run the game at a minimum, the trend is for Fortnite to gain more content and become incompatible at the top of 2016.

Fortnite needs a lightweight version, just like PUBG Mobile that won the “Lite” version.

With this, we can conclude that a huge portion of players, not only from Brazil, will not play this one of the most popular games of the moment. The only possible solution to this dilemma is Epic Games launching a lighter version.

This lightweight version would be welcome even for the Galaxy S7 and other top of the line 2016 that has been suffering to run the game. A reduced map version and few skins would be enough to include a lot more people in the game.

The best alternative to Fortnite for “weak”

Who owns phones like Samsung J5, Moto G4, G5 and G6, the best alternative is the game Creative Destruction. The game perfectly balances your look so it runs even on input devices with 1.5 GB of RAM.
