Crescent Moon Games is developing a new game in the best style “Metroidvania”. Rubi: The Wayward Mira arrives only in 2019, but promises to delight retro games fans with a very beautiful 2D pixel art. The game is planned for Android and iOS.
Ruby is described as “a Metroidvania 2D fantasy platformer with settings and inspiration drawn from particle physics and the Great Hadron Collider located at CERN.” Here is a brief synopsis of Ruby’s story followed by some screens:
“Casimir is an agonizing planet. The native inhabitants, the ‘Mira’, extracted the mana from the ley lines of the world to support their civilization, leading to the collapse of the ecosystem that supports all life on the planet. During the decline of the land, a young Mira was born without the ability to use mana, Ruby.
An otherwise fatal condition, Rubi had two implants installed on the back of his palms to regulate his flow of mana, allowing him to survive amidst growing decay.
The years went by, and the population declined as Mira searched frantically for whatever remains of mana they could find … when Rubi and some of her relatives were suddenly transported to a strange and exuberant land on Earth. “
The trailer, frankly, did not excite me much. But this impression must be because of the style of editing, which does not excite at all. This trailer is quite old, and does not match the latest version of the game.
Rubi: The Wayward Mira has been developing for some time. Developers are working together with the community to create a game that surpasses expectations.
There is a demo version available for Windows on the producer’s website. You can even buy a PC-paid version for $ 9.99 (around R $ 40).
It was not specified if the mobile version will be free or paid. That we’ll know when it’s released in 2019.
