CAPCOM will Disable Puzzle Fighter on July 31

Puzzle Fighter is another small failure of Capcom in the mobile world. The game was announced only 8 months ago and will have its service closed. According to the producer, the game will be discontinued so the team can dedicate itself in launching the next Dead Rising for consoles.

The internal purchases will be deactivated on April 23 (Monday). The game will be removed from Google Play and the App Store on July 1st and servers will be disabled on July 31. As this is an exclusively online game, it will be impossible to play after that date.

Current players will be presented with 10,000 gems, and the next characters (Regina, Wily and Ada Wong) and the stages (Darminor and Uroboros Laboratory) will be available for free. Regina and Dr. Wily will be available today, while Ada Wong and the new stages will be available on April 23. Today, the game’s soundtrack will also be available for streaming online for free via SoundCloud. Lastly, the limited special Classic Mode game event will be available at all times until the end of the service.

The cute and casual version of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo has failed to captivate audiences. The game accounted for only 60,000 downloads in March this year (according to Sensor Tower), numbers that could be applied to a premium game (paid games are among the least profitable apps).

Recently the game was announced for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in Europe. We do not know if it will be the same version or if it will be canceled.
